As a Junior Videographer, you work directly with clients and talent on location and in the studio to accomplish various video goals. Along side our sales team, Creative Directors, and video editors; you engage talent, clients, and guests at location shoots and introduce them to the exciting world of Vanilla Video.

In addition to filming family events and planned productions, you represent the company and provide the first-impression for many new customers. Turning them from curious observers into loyal customers. You not only enjoy the filmmaking process, but thrive on interactions with team members and customers. Position Description

As a Junior Videographer you will spend approximately half your time in-office assisting with post-production, editing, processing, and video delivery to customers. All office-based work can typically be done on your own schedule — we encourage videographers to make their own hours during this portion of their week. The other half of time is usually spent on-location working with clients, or travelling to client worksites.

As a Junior Videographer you will train for 2-3 months prior to filming on your own, and will generally shadow a Senior Videographer. Typically you will be assigned a training partner during the first few months until you are competent enough to film to our standards. Upon completing your videography training, our sales team will slowly begin assigning you more complex and advanced video production projects. After 12 months as a Junior Videographer you will be eligible to become a Senior Videographer. During training, you will also work with Senior Video Editors to better understand post-production.

Vanilla Video prefers to internal recruiting, and typically requires most of our videographers begin as Junior Videographers before moving to other positions within the organization. Typical career advancement includes Senior Videographers, Senior Video Editors, Motion Graphics Artist, Assistant Branch Operations Manager, and Creative Director.

  • Ability to arrive promptly and on-time.
  • Familiar with video post production.

Responsibilities & Duties

You are responsible for filming a variety of events and productions across a dynamic range of event types and industries. You are assigned orders by our sales team, and from time to time may work in multi-camera teams at various productions / events with other videographers and creative directors on location. Most commonly, you will be responsible for single-camera shoots on which you will engage clients and complete the filming portion of their video production following their directives and your best judgement.
