Job Summary

Social media marketing is an increasingly important part of a consumer’s brand experience throughout almost every industry. Although Vanilla Video is known for our high-quality, low-cost product offerings, almost all of our customer interactions happen online through our website.

Vanilla Video is looking to expand our online presence on social media, increase customer interaction and provide a more rounded and inclusive online brand experience. As we grow, we'd also like to offer social marketing services to our business clients.We are looking for someone that has experience working with multiple brands in the social media marketing space. You must be well-organized, a strong communicator and a client-facing rock-star that knows social media marketing. We are growing and need someone that can hit the ground running! You will oversee Social Media campaigns which include but are not limited to: research, campaign and content creation, execution, monitoring and reporting. Knowledge of some SEO best practices is also helpful but not a requirement, as it is correlated to items we do in the social marketing and SEO space.

Key Qualifications

  • Intimate knowledge of popular social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, etc.)

  • Create a social media strategy that collaborates with marketing, PR and advertising campaigns

  • Research top competitors and trends in the video production industry.

  • Create timely and engaging content optimized for platform used and intended audience.

  • Monitor sites for customer service opportunities and initiate conversations on behalf of the client.

  • Analyze and report social media actions on a monthly basis for successes and new opportunities.

Description

The ideal Social Marketing Manager knows a little bit about everything and is always hungry to learn more. You absolutely must be up on top of current tools and trends so a lot of your job will consist of reading blogs and articles related to social marketing, video and client industries, watching or listening to any relevant videos and podcasts, and attending networking and educational events. To break it down, this job is 1 part learning and 2 parts implementation with a monthly analysis and report on social media impressions and interactions to define what works, what doesn’t and to explore opportunities. You will constantly be asked to take new knowledge you’ve acquired and apply it to campaigns.

Communication is key when it comes to social media. You must have strong writing skills and be able to reflect a specific brand personality during any online interactions for Vanilla Video or while working on any of our client’s social media platforms. Though we are not looking for a Photoshop wizard to head our social marketing endeavors, some graphic design knowledge is prefered as you will be tasked with the management of brand visuals on social media pages- profile pictures, banners, custom background etc.

Responsibilities & Duties

As the Social Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for planning and implementing all public-facing messaging and interactions via social media platforms. That includes overseeing Graphic Designers in the development of page specific graphics, Working with Staff Writers to craft a variety of different posts and engaging with and actively responding to followers on Vanilla Video and client pages. You will be required to stay up on current trends, watch for relevant, daily trending topics, and use analytical data to refine future internal processes and refine product offerings. Your social intelligence will also come into play during in-person meetings with clients to understand their brand and social marketing needs.

Additional Requirements

  • Customer service experience preferred

  • Marketing, PR or Advertising background preferred

  • Preferred knowledge of SEO implementation for Vanilla Video

  • Curiosity, creativity and organization skills

  • Ability to develop lasting professional relationships with clients
